New Lawns/Seeded

Turffix^® is an excellent choice for establishing a thick, vigorous, stand of grass. It has been found in research to be very effective in starting lawns. It produces a healthy soil, and an abundance of nutrients that do not leech away. This produces a thick, rich, and deep lawn; emerald green in color and soft underfoot.

Carefully level the receiving soil, leaving it loose on the top few centimetres.  Sprinkle your lawn grass mixture on top of the soil, and gently rake it in; perhaps using the back side of the rake in short, smoothing strokes. Use seed supplier’s recommendations for application rates. We recommend a mixture that has a high component of creeping red fescue. Do not work in the fertilizer at the same time!

When you can no longer see much of the grass seed mixture on top of the soil, you may add the Turffix^® (we do not recommend Turffix Plus^® for any mixture containing bent grass – just use Turffix^® the first year, then Turffix Plus^® thereafter).  Apply at the recommended rate. This is a natural product and will not burn or kill the grass even if you double the recommended rate. We recommend what is appropriate for lawn establishment.

Just sprinkle the fertilizer on top of the soil and do not incorporate it. Give it full access to the air. Water generously. This product is an all plant origin nutrient blend that is absolutely safe for all birds, wildlife or even grandkids.  There is no blood, bone, manure, animal by-products or sewage of any kind – and no waste products, chemicals or heavy metals!

Your fertilizer should begin to activate quickly after moisture is applied. This will begin releasing the full plant nutrient package in three to four weeks. Your lawn will grow with a little rain and a little sunshine.  That same rain and sun shine releases the nutrients as the plant needs it.  If there is heavy or frequent rain and hot sunshine, the product works faster and releases more quickly. One application of Turffix^® will provide abundant nutrients needed for the growing season. For the first three weeks, set your mower on mulch, rather than bagging the clippings, so that you do not lift up the Turffix^® with the lawn clippings. After three weeks and some watering, it would be fine to mow your lawn as usual.
